🛠️ Service Notes

• Work scrupulously clean: cap or plug the fuel connections as soon as they are opened and keep grit out of the injector bore and off the injector body — contamination is the commonest cause of a new unit injector failing early
• Fit new O-rings and sealing washers throughout, lightly lubricated on assembly so they slide into the bore without rolling or being nipped
• Inspect the copper sleeve in the head while the injector is out; a sleeve that is disturbed, corroded or leaking must be renewed with the proper sleeve tooling before the injector goes back
• Clean the injector seat and the sealing area at the top of the bore, and check the hold-down clamp and yoke for wear or distortion — a bent clamp will let combustion gases past
• Tighten the clamp and set the unit injector adjustment to the procedure, sequence and figures in the workshop manual for your engine, bleed the fuel system before cranking, and where the engine management holds injector calibration or trim data, program the new injector in
