βš™οΈ Key Features

  • Genuine Volvo Penta transmission control valve
  • Factory flow and pressure calibration
  • Designed for the D9A2A/D9A2B reversing-gear control system
  • Works with the original solenoids and transmission harness
  • Requires clean oil and correct system pressure for reliable operation
  • Engine type: Volvo Penta D9/D11 diesel marine propulsion with hydraulic reversing gear

πŸ”Œ Function

Routes regulated transmission oil pressure to the commanded clutch pack, enabling controlled engagement of forward and reverse.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Delayed or failed forward/reverse engagement
  • Harsh, erratic or slipping shifts
  • Transmission pressure alarms
  • Gear remains engaged or will not engage
  • Contamination, internal leakage or sticking valve spool

πŸ› οΈ Service Notes

  • Work clean and cap ports and pipes as they come off β€” a control valve is a close-fitting part and grit is what kills it
  • Find out why the old valve failed: contamination, water or degraded fluid will take the new one out just as fast, so check the fluid and the filters at the same time
  • Renew the O-rings, seals and gaskets that come with the valve, lightly lubricated with the system fluid, and make sure the ports and seal faces are clean
  • Tighten the valve and its unions evenly to the figures in the workshop manual for your engine or drive; overtightening distorts the body and can make the spool stick
  • Refill and bleed the system to the manual's procedure, then test function at low load first and check for leaks and correct operation before normal use
