🔌 Function

The tachometer receives engine-speed data from the MDI or EVC network and displays crankshaft rpm. Its LCD provides local engine-hour information and alarm-symbol indication for the operator.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Tachometer remains at zero with the engine running
• Rpm indication jumps, drops out or reads incorrectly
• LCD engine-hour display is blank or unreadable
• Alarm symbols or backlighting do not operate
• Instrument loses communication because of a connector, power-supply or network fault

🛠️ Service Notes

• The black 85 mm 0-4000 rpm version is 21628160, and the 110 mm equivalents on the same scale are 21511178 in black and 21511176 in white
• A replacement tachometer starts its displayed hour count from zero, so record the old reading before the instrument comes out
• The front ring is not included: 874708 black or 874732 chrome for panels up to 12 mm, 881612 or 881614 for 12 to 25 mm
