🔌 Function

The shroud directs fan airflow through the radiator and charge-air cooler while guarding the rotating fan.

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit the shroud before the fan wherever access allows, then turn the engine over by hand and check the blade tips clear the shroud all the way round through a full revolution
• Make sure the shroud seals against the radiator or cooler face and that any foam strip, seal or grommet is present and sound — air drawn round the outside of the core instead of through it will cost cooling
• Use the rubber grommets, spacers and mounts supplied for the joint; mounting a plastic shroud hard against metal cracks it around the fixing points
• Tighten the fixings only enough to hold the shroud flat and square — moulded and thin sheet shrouds distort and crack if pulled down hard
• Check the shroud for cracks, missing corners and previous makeshift repairs while it is off, and clear leaves, weed and debris from the core behind it before refitting
