⚙️ Key Features

• EDC4 cooling-system fastener
• Six-point drive head
• Correct OEM length, thread and strength grade
• Used in the radiator and shroud support assembly
• Quantity varies by assembly, most commonly 14

🔌 Function

The screw clamps the cooling-system support components together at the designed preload.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Rounded or damaged drive head
• Stretched or corroded threads
• Fastener unable to hold torque
• Shroud or bracket movement
• Incorrect replacement grade causing loosening

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the head, threads and seating face before reuse; a screw with rounded flats, a stretched thread or heavy corrosion should be renewed, not refitted
• Clean the threads and the mating face so the screw pulls down onto metal rather than onto dirt or old sealant
• Use a correctly sized spanner or socket fully engaged on the head, and support the component so the screw is not loaded sideways as it tightens
• Refit the same washers, locking devices or sealing compound that were originally used
• Tighten to the figure and sequence given in the workshop manual for your engine, pulling the screws of a multi-screw joint down evenly in stages
