🛠️ Service Notes

• Clean both sealing faces before assembly and check the rubber sleeves, seals and clamps; hardened, swollen or split sleeve rubber will not hold boost on a new pipe
• Seat the pipe fully onto its spigots and set each clamp behind the bead before tightening, so pressure cannot push the joint apart
• Align and support the pipe on its brackets so it is not pulled into tension — a pipe held under strain chafes, cracks and works its clamps loose
• Check the bore for oil sludge and soot before fitting and clean it out; carried-over oil softens sleeve rubber and blackens a new pipe from the inside
• Tighten clamps and any flange fasteners to the figures in the workshop manual for your engine, then re-check them after the first run under load
