🔧 Product Description

A genuine component in the EGR and inlet-control assembly on Volvo Penta TAD752GE, TAD753GE and TAD754GE engines. It closes and protects the specified section of the EGR control assembly and works with the cooler, actuator, lever, rod and sensor system.

🔌 Function

Closes and protects the specified section of the egr control assembly, allowing the engine control system to meter recirculated exhaust flow accurately.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Binding or lost motion in the control mechanism
  • Soot leakage or abnormal wear
  • Cracking, corrosion or fastener loosening

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Clean both faces and remove all of the old gasket or sealant before refitting; a cover plate only seals if it sits flat on a clean face
  • Check the plate for distortion around the fixing holes and renew it if the flange has been pulled out of shape
  • Fit a new gasket, seal or O-ring rather than reusing the old one, and use sealant only where the manual for your engine calls for it
  • Tighten evenly and progressively to the figures in the workshop manual — these covers are thin and easily bowed by pulling one fixing up first
  • Check for weeps once the engine has been run up to temperature and allowed to cool
