Intake strainer fitted to the bilge-pump suction hose. It prevents larger debris from entering the pump while providing a broad pickup area near the bottom of the bilge.

🔌 Function
Fits on the bilge pump suction hose and keeps larger debris out of the pump, spreading the suction over a wide area so the pickup does not blind against the hull.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Pump running but shifting little or no water
- Pump cycling on and off as the suction blinds and clears
- Strainer face matted with hair, fibres or debris
- Cracked strainer body or a broken hose spigot

- Volvo publishes no hose size against this strainer, and that is deliberate rather than a gap - the equivalent part covers both the 19/32 mm and 25/38 mm valve sizes, so check the bore of the hose actually fitted
