🔧 Product Description

Full-flow lubricating-oil filter used on Volvo Penta D12 and TAMD/TMD heavy-duty engines. It filters the complete pressurised oil supply before the oil reaches the engine bearings and valvetrain.

🔌 Function

Filters the whole pressurised oil supply before it reaches the bearings and valve gear, so the engine only ever sees cleaned oil.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Oil pressure low or slow to rise once the element has loaded up
  • Rumble or knock from the bottom end after a long run on a blocked filter
  • Weeping or a wet film round the filter head and seal
  • Filter found choked black, or its bypass valve open, when cut apart

🛠️ Service Notes

  • This is the full-flow filter; the bypass filter for these engines is 21707132 and only 34 grams separate them, so order by part number
  • Fill the new filter with clean oil where the mounting allows and smear the seal before fitting, to cut the dry-running time at start-up
  • Tighten by hand to the mark on the filter - a filter cranked up with a strap wrench distorts the seal and weeps
