🔌 Function

Screws permanently into its tapped hole and gives a fixed spigot for the part to be located on and a nut to be run down, so the tapped thread is not worked every time the joint is opened.

  • Stud unscrewing with the nut when the joint is dismantled
  • Component sitting loose despite the nut being tight
  • Stud found bent, stretched or necked down on removal
  • Thread found stripped in the casting, or the stud broken off flush

  • Renew a stud that came out with its nut or shows a stretched thread rather than refitting it - a stretched stud fails at the next tightening
