⚙️ Key Features

• Marine Propulsion group shaft, 1.447 kg
• Supersedes part number 3588815
• Listed for 152 applications across DPH, DPR, TSK and D series

🔌 Function

Transmits drive as a rotating shaft within the sterndrive and transom installation, carrying torque between the components it splines or keys into.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Vibration through the hull that changes with drive speed rather than engine speed
• Clonk on taking up drive, or on the change between ahead and astern
• Rumble or grinding from the drive that worsens under load
• Splines rounded, the shaft scored at a bearing or seal land, or run-out found once the drive is stripped

🛠️ Service Notes

• It supersedes 3588815, so a drive listed with the earlier number takes this shaft
• Renew the seals and check the bearings the shaft runs in before reassembly, since a scored seal land will destroy a new seal
• The published description for this number places it in the engine timing train, which does not match its Marine Propulsion grouping or its DPH, DPR and TSK fitment: confirm the application against the drive's parts list for your engine
