🔌 Function

Forms the fuel connection at a banjo joint, letting the pipe or hose swivel to its final angle while sealing against the component face through the washers each side of the banjo.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Diesel weeping or a wet, dust-caked ring around the union
  • Smell of fuel in the engine space, or air drawn into the system on the suction side
  • Sealing faces of the nipple found scored, ridged or corroded
  • Nipple thread stretched or its drilling partly blocked by debris on strip-down

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Always fit new sealing washers to a banjo joint and tighten to the manual's figure: overtightening to cure a weep distorts the faces and makes it worse
  • It supersedes 992947, so an engine listed with the earlier number takes this nipple
  • Check the variant marking KC against the parts list for your parts, as banjo nipples in this family are supplied in more than one specification
