🔧 Product Description

230V, 1500W coolant heater for cold-start assistance and standby-engine temperature maintenance on TAD1340VE installations. The heater is fitted into the specified coolant circuit with the matching pipe, seal, cable and locking hardware.

🔌 Function

Warms engine coolant when connected to the specified 230V supply, improving cold starting and reducing warm-up time for standby duty.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • No temperature rise when energised
  • Tripped breaker or earth-leakage protection
  • Coolant leakage at the heater joint
  • Damaged cable or connector
  • Element short circuit or open circuit

🛠️ Service Notes

  • The cooling system must be filled and properly vented before the heater is switched on — energising the element in a dry or air-locked jacket will burn it out
  • Isolate the shore supply and let the engine cool before removing or fitting a heater, and drain enough coolant to work below the heater opening
  • Renew the sealing ring or gasket at the opening and tighten to the figure in the workshop manual for your engine
  • Inspect the element for scale and the housing for corrosion; a heavily scaled element runs hot and will fail again
  • Have the electrical connection made off correctly and protected, fed from a properly earthed and protected shore supply, and check the cable and connector for damage each season
