• Apply thread locking compound, sealant or a locking device only where the installation calls for it, and renew self-locking or single-use fasteners rather than reusing them
• Tighten to the figure and in the sequence given in the workshop manual for your engine, and where the screw sets a position or clearance, make the setting first and then lock it without disturbing it
