🔌 Function

Opens to release the burnt gas into the exhaust port and seals the chamber for the rest of the cycle, passing most of its own heat out through the seat while it is closed.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Misfire on one cylinder and a loss of power
• Popping or spitting back through the exhaust
• Compression down on one cylinder against its neighbours
• Head or face burnt, pitted or with a notch in the seating face on strip-down
• Stem worn, bent or with a stepped wear band

🛠️ Service Notes

• Intake valve 21874015 at 0.100 kg is the other valve in the same head - the two are only 13 grams apart, so order by intake or exhaust rather than by comparison
• Renew the valve stem seals and check the guide for wear while the head is apart
• A burnt exhaust valve usually points at a seat or clearance problem; check both before fitting a new valve
