Holds the fuel rail and its brackets to the intake manifold so the rail and injectors stay located against fuel pressure and vibration.

- Fuel smell or a damp patch around the fuel rail
- Rail or injector free to rock by hand
- Screw found loose or missing
- Head recess damaged so a tool slips
- Thread damage in the manifold boss on removal
🛠️ Service Notes
- Depressurise the fuel system before disturbing the rail, and check the injector seals for leakage while the rail is off
- It is a small fastener into a light alloy boss, so a stripped boss rather than a stretched screw is the usual reason the joint will not hold
