🚤 Compatibility

Typically suits:

• Volvo Penta TAD1180-83VE
• Volvo Penta TAD1170-72VE
• Volvo Penta TAD1150-52VE
• Volvo Penta TAD1140-42VE

• Engine Family: TAD

⚙️ Key Features

• Support bracket for the TAD1140 to TAD1142VE turbocharger and charge-air pipe installation
• 0.259 kg
• Listed for four TAD series engine applications
• Controls pipe movement and flange loading from engine vibration and thermal expansion

🔌 Function

Ties the charge-air pipework back to the engine so vibration and thermal growth are not carried by the pipe flanges and their seals.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Whistling or blowing at a charge-air joint under load
• Loss of boost, with black smoke and lost power
• Pipe free to move by hand at the bracket
• Cracks at the bolt holes or bend radii
• Flange or clamp faces marked where the joint has been working

🛠️ Service Notes

• Leave the pipe clamps slack until the bracket is bolted up, so the pipe is not pulled into line by the bracket
• Renew the charge-air joint seals if any of them have been blowing
