🛠️ Service Notes
- This is a workshop tool rather than an engine part, and it does the work only with the correct Volvo Penta adapter fitted — the adapters are ordered separately and are what suit the tool to a particular component.
- Check the adapter is threaded fully home before the first blow; a partly engaged thread strips or bends under shock loading and can leave the adapter stuck in the component.
- Pull square and in line with the component's axis — a slide hammer works by axial shock, and a pull taken off at an angle distorts the component or the housing instead of freeing it.
- This is a light tool aimed at small components; where more force is needed, move up to a heavier slide hammer rather than striking harder with this one.
