🔧 Product Description

Power-steering fluid hose used on selected Volvo Penta V8 petrol engines. It replaces hose 21918374 and connects the oil reservoir to the steering-pump circuit with the specified length and fittings.

🔌 Function

Carries steering fluid between the remote reservoir and power-steering pump/return circuit.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Fluid seepage or oily hose surface
• Whining steering pump from air ingress
• Hard or inconsistent steering assist
• Cracked or swollen hose
• Low reservoir level without an obvious pump leak

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit hoses only to clean, sound spigots — take off old rubber, scale and corrosion, and renew the spigot or pipe if it is pitted, because no clamp will seal a rough sealing face
• Push the hose fully home so the clamp sits behind the bead or barb rather than over the end of the spigot, and fit new clamps whenever a hose is renewed
• Let the hose follow its natural bend with no kinks and no tension on either connection, clear of hot surfaces and moving parts, with chafe protection wherever it passes a bracket, edge or bulkhead
• Use the correct grade of hose for the duty, and clamp to the standard the installation demands — twin clamps are normal practice on seawater and fuel connections below the waterline
• Refill, vent and run the engine, then check every joint hot and cold and recheck the clamps after the first running period as the hose beds down
