🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the hose is the one for the position and that its bends and any moulded ports match; charge air hoses are shaped for their location and a substitute that is only close will collapse or chafe through
• Clean the spigots and check them for corrosion, pitting or a lifted bead before fitting — a rough spigot will not seal against a new hose
• Push the hose fully onto each spigot so the clamp lands behind the bead, and fit new clamps where the originals are corroded or have been over-tightened and dug in
• Tighten the clamps evenly to the figure given in the workshop manual for your engine where one is specified, and re-check them after the first run up and again after the first period of use
• Look inside the hose while it is off: oil or soot in the bore points to something upstream that wants investigating before the new hose goes on
