⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Oil drips or a wet film underneath the engine
  • Oil level falling with no smoke and no obvious external leak
  • Pan dented, scored or split from grounding or rough handling
  • Drain plug thread stripped or the sealing face pulled
  • Sealing flange distorted so the joint will not hold

🛠️ Service Notes

  • It supersedes 21741841 and is the later pan, listed from serial number 11181214 onwards, so check the engine number before ordering
  • Renew the pan joint and the drain plug seal at the same time, and clean the pickup strainer while the pan is off
  • Tighten the pan fixings evenly from the centre outwards so the flange is not pulled out of line
