22189484 Limiter | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Limiter component used in a Volvo Penta hydraulic control circuit. It restricts pressure, spool travel or actuator movement to the calibrated operating range and protects the downstream system.

⚙️ Key Features

• Calibrated limiting characteristic
• Application-specific port or mechanical interface
• Protects hydraulic components from over-travel or over-pressure
• Designed for stable operation under vibration and temperature change
• System pressure and specification must match

🔌 Function

Restricts hydraulic pressure or component movement to the intended safe operating limit.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Hydraulic pressure outside specification
• Actuator over-travel or insufficient travel
• System chatter, noise or unstable control
• Internal leakage or sticking
• Repeated hose, seal or actuator damage from loss of limiting function

🛠️ Service Notes

• Confirm the system pressure and specification match before fitting — an incorrect limiter will not protect the circuit at the intended threshold
• Confirm exact function and fitment before treating 3884353 as a substitute, rather than assuming interchangeability
• If the circuit shows chatter or unstable control after fitting, check for internal leakage or sticking in the limiter itself
