🔧 Product Description
Heavy 8.932 kg support bracket for a large Volvo Penta inlet/exhaust installation. It carries the weight and vibration loads of the connecting pipe and flexible collar so those loads are not transferred into the turbocharger or air-cleaner housing.
🚤 Compatibility
Typically suits:
- Volvo Penta TAD1180-83VE
- Volvo Penta TAD1170-72VE
- Volvo Penta TAD1150-52VE
- Volvo Penta TAD1140-42VE
- Engine Family: TAD
⚙️ Key Features
- Heavy support bracket for a large inlet and exhaust installation
- 8.932 kg
- Listed for 4 applications in the TAD family
- Carries the weight and vibration loads of the connecting pipe and flexible collar so they are not fed into the turbocharger or air-cleaner housing
🔌 Function
Supports the heavy intake/exhaust pipework and controls vibration-induced fatigue at flexible joints.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Intake or exhaust pipework visibly sagging or out of line
- Heavy rattle or boom from the pipe run at particular engine speeds
- Flexible collar cracked, split or working itself off the pipe
- Bracket welds or fixing points found cracked on inspection
- Elongated bolt holes and bright fretting where the bracket has been moving
🛠️ Service Notes
- At 8.932 kg the bracket carries real load, so support the pipework before the last fixings come out
- Inspect the flexible collar and pipe joints for the fatigue cracking a loose bracket causes before refitting
