• An intermittent circuit fault that changes when the connector is wiggled
• Green or white corrosion on the pins, or moisture trapped in the housing
• Terminals backed out of their cavities so contact is made only under pressure
• The latch or locking tab broken, letting the connector work apart
• The seal hardened, split or missing, with dirt inside the mating face

• Check the terminal crimps and the seal before replacing the connector, and confirm the cavity layout and pin count against the parts list for your wiring
• Refit the secondary lock fully - an unlatched connector is the usual reason a repaired fault comes straight back
