• Fit new sealing washers or O-rings where the original had them, and use sealant only where the manual calls for it
• Orient the branch so all three lines run without strain, kinking or chafing, and hold the fitting against turning while unions are tightened onto it
• Tighten to the figure in the workshop manual for your engine rather than by feel; these fittings are small and the threads strip easily
• Support the hoses each side with proper clips and check the joint for weeps at working pressure
