Precision rubber sealing ring used with fuel-pump control valve 22224036. It supersedes seal 995915 and seals the metering/control valve against diesel leakage and pressure bypass.

🔌 Function

Seals the control valve in the high-pressure fuel pump to prevent external leakage and internal pressure bypass.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Fuel seepage around the control valve
  • Rail-pressure instability
  • Seal flattening or tearing
  • Repeated valve fault after reuse of the old seal

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Fit rubber rings new; one that has been compressed and heat-cycled has taken a set and will neither seal nor grip properly again
  • Clean the groove or seat and check it is free of burrs, salt and old sealant before fitting
  • Lubricate lightly, using something compatible with the fluid the joint carries — the wrong lubricant swells or hardens rubber
  • Ease the ring into place by hand rather than with a screwdriver or pick, as a nicked ring will leak
  • Make sure the ring is not twisted, pinched or trapped as the parts come together, and check the joint is dry after a run up to working temperature
