⚙️ Key Features

  • 230-volt engine-heater element
  • 820-watt rated output
  • TAD5/TAD7 generator application
  • Supersedes 20412577
  • Supports cold-start and standby readiness
  • Engine type: Industrial/generator diesel

🔌 Function

Heats engine coolant before starting to improve cold-start reliability and reduce warm-up wear.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • No coolant warming
  • Open-circuit element
  • Earth leakage or breaker trip
  • Coolant leakage at heater seal
  • Element scaling or overheating

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Check the rod for straightness and its ends for wear or damage before fitting — a bent rod cannot be corrected by refitting and will bind or carry its load off-line
  • Note its orientation and fitted position on removal; many rods are handed or are only correct one way round
  • Fit without forcing, secure all locknuts, pins and clips, and tighten to the figures in the workshop manual for your engine
  • Check it moves freely through its full travel by hand, with no tight spot or fouling, before the engine is run
