22305541 Sound Absorber | Genuine Volvo Penta Part

🔧 Product Description

Factory acoustic absorber fitted at the first acoustic-insulation position around a Volvo Penta marine-engine installation. It reduces airborne mechanical and combustion noise and is shaped to the exact engine cover or enclosure location.

⚙️ Key Features

• Moulded acoustic-insulation component
• Position-specific profile
• Reduces engine-room noise
• Heat- and oil-resistant facing where specified
• Fitment controlled by cover/enclosure and serial number
• Engine type: Volvo Penta marine diesel or petrol engine

🔌 Function

Absorbs and attenuates airborne engine noise while maintaining the required clearances and ventilation.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Insulation delaminates or crumbles
• Oil or water saturation
• Missing fastening points
• Rubbing on hot/moving components
• Increased engine-room noise

🛠️ Service Notes

• Fit sound insulation only to a clean, dry, grease-free surface, and keep it clear of hot exhaust and turbocharger surfaces, moving parts and anything that relies on cooling airflow
• Secure it with all the original clips, studs or fasteners so a panel cannot work loose and fall against the engine
• Do not cut into or cover ventilation openings, drains or access points, and leave service items reachable
• Renew a panel that has become oil-soaked or waterlogged rather than refitting it: contaminated insulation is a fire risk and no longer absorbs sound
• Check that no wiring, hose or control cable has been trapped or left chafing behind the panel
