Carries power-steering fluid to or from the cooler while absorbing engine movement.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Whining steering pump from air ingress
  • Hard or inconsistent steering
  • Cracked or swollen hose
  • Leakage at crimped fittings

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Fit the assembly along its original run so the moulded bends and fixed ends sit naturally; forcing a hose to twist or bend tightly to reach it kinks the wall and shortens its life
  • Push each end fully home over the stub so the clip lands behind the bead or in its groove, and fit new clips rather than reusing tired or distorted ones
  • Tighten clips evenly and only enough to seal — over-tightening cuts into the hose wall and starts the next leak
  • Support the assembly with its original clips and stand-offs, clear of the exhaust, belts and sharp edges, and check nothing rubs when the engine moves on its mounts
  • Bring the engine up to temperature, then recheck the joints and clip tightness once the hose has been hot and pressurised
