• Tighten unions and banjo bolts evenly to the figures in the workshop manual for your engine — overtightening distorts the seat and starts the leak you were trying to cure
• Refit every clip and support bracket in its original place and keep the pipe clear of hot or moving parts so it cannot chafe or be shaken to failure
