The kit holds the set of components specific to that one engine swap - brackets, screws, nuts and an installation instruction - and the brackets are shaped to match the new engine to the existing engine bed so the fibreglass work is kept to a minimum. It is the MD5 entry in the saildrive repowering table; the MD6, MD7, MD11 and MD17 swap uses 22410368 instead.

🔌 Function

Adapts the new D1 engine's mounting points to the bed the old MD5 sat on, so the engine can be set at the right height and alignment without rebuilding the bed.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• New engine's feet landing nowhere near the old bed's bolt pattern
• Engine cannot be aligned to the drive within the range of the flexible mounts
• Bracket faces or mounting holes damaged or corroded on an earlier conversion
• Vibration and noise after a conversion put together from mixed hardware
• Fasteners from two different kits mixed, so the clamping load is wrong

🛠️ Service Notes

• The saildrive itself has to be replaced on this conversion, unless the boat has a 120S saildrive being repowered to D1-13, D1-20 or D1-30, in which case kit 22567193 lets the 120S stay
• Confirm the old engine, the new engine and the bed dimensions before ordering - each kit is specific to one swap
• Flexible mounts, coupling parts and alignment shims are separate unless the kit lists them
• For these installations the existing saildrive needs to be replaced, except for the 120S saildrive when repowering to D1-13/20/30, where kit 22567193 lets the 120S be kept
