Type K is the stainless steel Duoprop range designed specifically for the Volvo Penta Forward Drive. The propellers are made of a strong and durable stainless steel to provide excellent acceleration and top speed, and the patented bushing, made of a naval brass, reduces vibrations and stress on the drivetrain components while galvanically isolating the stainless steel propeller from the aluminium drive casting. This is the K7 front propeller; the matching rear propeller is 22414388, and the pair is also listed as set 22417010. Every set of Duoprop propellers is designed, tested and manufactured together, so the front and rear propellers of a dimension belong to each other.

🔌 Function

The leading propeller of a counter-rotating Duoprop pair, taking the first bite of clean water and turning engine torque into thrust, with the rear propeller behind it sharing the load the drive is designed to carry.

• Vibration through the hull that worsens with speed
• Blade edges chipped, bent or eroded
• Loss of top speed, or slow to plane, at the same engine rpm
• Engine over-revving under load, pointing to a slipped hub
• Pitting or corrosion across the blade faces

🛠️ Service Notes

• Order by the K7 code marked on the propeller rather than by weight, which does not step with the dimension in this family
• Front and rear must always share the same K dimension - mixing dimensions upsets the load split between the two propellers
• Check the propeller shaft seals and clear the hub of fishing line whenever a propeller is off
• Installation hardware, type K: propeller hardware kit 22592621 (containing propeller cone 22413546, hex socket screws 60111646 and 963683, front propeller nut 22477740 and rear propeller nut 22477738), plus flow deflector 22436582.
