🔌 Function

A 75W-90 gear oil for Volvo Penta drives. It lubricates the gears, bearings and shaft seals inside the drive unit, carries heat away from the tooth contact and holds the additive package that protects the gear faces under load.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Oil drawn from the drum cloudy, separated or carrying sediment
  • Drum seal broken or the bung left open, so the contents can pick up water
  • Drained drive oil coming out dark, milky or glittering with metal, which is the signal to change it
  • Gear noise from the drive that varies with load

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Decant with a clean dedicated pump and keep the bungs closed - a part-used drum will absorb moisture if it is left open
  • For a single drive service the 5 or 20 litre packs, 22479648 and 22479647, are the usual choice
