Genuine Volvo Penta green coolant concentrate, listed as the 20 litre pack of the green range and weighing 23.32 kg. Green is the coolant formulated for the older generations of Volvo Penta engines: it prevents freezing and overheating, protects against corrosion, cavitation and deposit build-up, and runs a two-year change interval. As a concentrate it has to be mixed before use - 40 per cent concentrate gives protection to -25°C, 50 per cent to -35°C and 60 per cent to -46°C - and it must be mixed with pure distilled or deionised water in a clean vessel, never tap water, whose minerals form deposits inside the cooling system.

🔌 Function

Circulates through the closed cooling circuit to carry heat out of the engine, and carries the inhibitor package that protects the internal surfaces against corrosion, cavitation and freezing.

• Coolant in the header tank gone brown, rusty or cloudy
• An oily film or sludge floating in the expansion tank
• Scale or sediment visible in the tank or at the heat exchanger
• A test showing the inhibitor or the freeze protection has fallen away
• Level dropping with no external leak to account for it

• Check the label reads concentrate before use - the ready-mixed 20 litre pack is 22567259 and goes in undiluted
• Never mix the green coolant with the yellow VCS coolant; the additive packages are not compatible
• Mix the liquids properly in a clean vessel before filling the system
• Do not mix Volvo Penta coolant VCS (yellow) and Volvo Penta coolant (green). They are formulated for the specific requirements of different engine generations and contain unique additives that are not compatible
• Always use the same Volvo Penta coolant type that was originally delivered with the engine - refer to the operator's manual
• Concentrated coolant should be mixed with pure distilled or deionised water, mixed properly in a clean vessel before filling the cooling system
