🔌 Function

The kit seals the engine's inlet-air and exhaust-gas passages after the manifolds and related components have been removed.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Boost-air leakage or loss of power
• Soot marks around exhaust-manifold joints
• Exhaust odour or gas leakage in the engine compartment
• Oil mist around inlet-manifold joints
• Old gaskets are crushed, burned or damaged during disassembly

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the kit contents against the joints you are actually opening before you start, and lay the parts out so nothing is left in the bag
• Renew every gasket in the kit as a set; a used gasket has already taken its crush and will not seal a second time
• Clean the mating faces properly without gouging them — a plastic or hardwood scraper and a solvent are safer than a steel blade, especially on aluminium
• Fit gaskets dry unless the workshop manual for your engine specifies a sealant, and then use only the sealant it names
• Tighten the joint evenly in the sequence and to the figures given in the manual for your engine, and re-check after the first heat cycle where the manual calls for it
