🔌 Function

Seals a joint in the cooling circuit by being compressed into its groove, blocking the leak path between the two faces.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Coolant weeping or dripping from the joint it seals
• Coolant level falling with no obvious external leak
• Ring found flattened, nipped or twisted when the joint is opened
• Rubber hardened, glazed or cracked
• Groove or spigot corroded so the new ring will not seal

• Renew it whenever the joint is opened rather than reusing it
• Lubricate the ring and clean the groove before assembly, and check the spigot for burrs that would cut it
