🔌 Function
Strains the raw water drawn into the cooling circuit, catching weed, sand and debris in a removable basket before they reach the sea water pump.

- Poor or lost cooling water flow at the exhaust, with the temperature rising
- Basket found choked with weed, sand or plastic
- Air drawn in past a hardened or badly seated lid seal
- Weeping or dripping at the lid or the body joints
- Corrosion or cracking of the housing or basket
🛠️ Service Notes
- Weight and fitment are the same as the side-mount 22852099, so establish the mounting orientation before ordering
- Fit a new lid seal when the strainer is opened up, and check the impeller if the engine has been run with restricted flow
- Shut the seacock before opening it, and check the joints for leaks once running again
