🔌 Function

Bolts through the transom to carry the drive, transferring thrust and steering loads into the hull and sealing the transom opening.

• Water entering the bilge at the transom penetration
• Drive moving on its mounting or steering feeling slack
• Heavy corrosion staining and anodes eaten unusually fast
• Seal landing faces pitted, so a new seal will not take up
• Cracks around the mounting holes or gimbal area on strip-down
