🔧 Product Description
Genuine Volvo Penta thrust washer from the Engine group, weighing 0.054 kg and superseding part number 20850122, whose two TAD series applications it covers. Thrust washers set crankshaft end float, so thickness matters.
⚙️ Key Features
- Crankshaft thrust washer, Engine group
- 0.054 kg
- Supersedes part number 20850122
- Covers the two TAD series applications of the number it replaces
🔌 Function
Sits against the crankshaft thrust face and takes the axial load from the drive, setting how far the crankshaft can move fore and aft.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Knock or thump when drive is engaged or load changes
- Crankshaft pulley visibly moving fore and aft
- Excessive end float when measured with a dial gauge
- Washer faces scored, or bearing material worn through to the backing
- Bearing debris in the sump or on the drain plug magnet
🛠️ Service Notes
- Measure crankshaft end float before condemning the washer and again after fitting - the washer thickness is what sets the float
- If the engine is stripped this far, renew the main bearings at the same time and inspect the crankshaft thrust face for scoring
