🔌 Function

The serviced pump draws seawater and supplies the heat exchanger, charge-air cooler and exhaust-cooling circuit at the required flow.

• Fit everything supplied as a set — the seals, bearings, circlips and locking parts in the kit are matched to the new shaft, and reusing old ones alongside it is a false economy
• Check the bores, housings and mating parts the shaft runs in for wear, scoring and ovality before assembly; a new shaft in a worn housing fails again quickly
• Press or drift bearings and seals in square, bearing only on the race or seal face that should carry the load, and never through the shaft or onto a seal lip
• Lubricate the shaft and the seal lips with clean oil of the grade the assembly runs on, then turn the shaft by hand to check it runs free with no binding or roughness
• Check end float, free play and any specified setting after assembly against the figures in the manual for your engine
