🔧 Product Description
Genuine Volvo Penta fuel pump weighing 0.646 kg, superseding part number 3858261 and covering its 81 applications across DPX, DP, SP and MS series units. Pump 23021433 is within 9 grams of it, so order by part number.
⚙️ Key Features
- Fuel pump from the Fuel System group
- 0.646 kg
- Supersedes 3858261 and covers its 81 applications across DPX, DP, SP and MS series units
- Within 9 grams of pump 23021433, so weight cannot separate them
- Also supersedes Volvo part numbers 3854620 and 3854902
🔌 Function
Draws fuel from the tank and delivers it at feed pressure to the engine's fuel system, keeping the supply up as demand rises.
⚠️ Common Signs of Failure
- Engine cutting out or losing power as load is applied
- No buzz, or only a weak one, when the ignition is first switched on
- Hard starting after the boat has stood
- Fuel feed pressure below specification when gauged
- Strainer blocked or pump internals worn on strip-down
🛠️ Service Notes
- Check the filters, tank pickup and the voltage at the pump before condemning it - starvation and low voltage both mimic a failed pump
- Pump 23021433 sits within 9 grams of this one, so order strictly by part number
- Renew the sealing washers and o-rings on the fuel connections rather than reusing them
