⚙️ Key Features

• Bearing housing from the Marine Propulsion group
• 0.399 kg
• Listed for four D series applications
• Supersedes 3584065
• Near-identical to housing 23040713, which covers eight engines

🔌 Function

Carries the bearing that supports a rotating shaft, holding it square and concentric so the shaft turns without wander.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Rumble or growl from the drive that rises with shaft speed
• Shaft play when levered by hand
• Oil weeping from the seal seated in the housing
• Bore found fretted or picked up where the bearing outer race sits
• Heat discolouration on the bearing races at strip-down

🛠️ Service Notes

• Order by part number - it takes more than the few grams between this and 23040713 to tell them apart, and their engine lists differ
• Renew the bearing and seal at the same time as the housing
