Seals a static joint in the drive, keeping lubricant in and water out at a face that has to stay dry for the life of the unit.

- Oil weeping from the joint, or an oily film running down the leg or housing
- Water or a milky emulsion found in the drive oil
- Drive oil level falling between checks
- Ring found flattened, nipped or split on strip-down
- Corrosion or scoring on the face the ring seals against
🛠️ Service Notes
- Always fit a new sealing ring on reassembly - a used one has taken a set and will not seal again
- Check the sealing face for scoring or corrosion, and lubricate the new ring on fitting so it is not nipped as the joint closes
- Pressure-test the drive after assembly where your manual calls for it
