Draws raw water in through the inlet and drives it through the heat exchanger and out with the exhaust, carrying the engine's heat overboard.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Temperature climbing with a weak or absent stream from the exhaust
• Rattle, squeal or grinding from the pump
• Salt crust or a weep at the pump's telltale drain
• Impeller found with vanes torn, set or missing
• Wear plate and cover scored, dropping the pump's output

🛠️ Service Notes

• Account for every impeller vane before running the engine - the missing pieces lodge in the heat exchanger and block it
• Renew the impeller, cover gasket and o-ring as a set, and check the strainer and hoses for the restriction that killed it
• SOLAS compliance is defining, so do not substitute a non-SOLAS pump on a vessel that requires one
