⚙️ Key Features

  • Heat shield from the Engine group
  • 1.737 kg
  • Supersedes part number 3886308
  • Listed for 28 TAD series engine applications

🔌 Function

Blocks radiated heat from the exhaust and turbocharger, protecting nearby components, hoses and wiring.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Hoses, looms or plastic parts near the exhaust found baked or hardened
  • Shield panel discoloured, blued or warped
  • Rattle from a loose or cracked shield
  • Cracks at the mounting tabs
  • Insulation layer broken up, oil-soaked or missing

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Renew rather than repair a shield whose insulation has broken down - a bare shield radiates the heat it should be blocking
  • Check the wiring and hoses behind it for heat damage while it is off
