⚙️ Key Features

• 0.590 kg
• Listed for 28 D series engine applications
• Consolidates 21699972, 22072117 and 22696906 into one current number

🔌 Function

Shields the surrounding installation from exhaust heat, keeping surface temperatures down and protecting hoses, looms and hands nearby.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Insulation charred, crumbling or shedding material
• Sections sagging or hanging where a tie or clip has failed
• Hoses, cables or paint nearby discoloured, hardened or melted
• Engine space noticeably hotter than it used to be
• Rattle or drumming from a loose section at certain revs

🛠️ Service Notes

• Renew rather than refit any section that is crushed, oil-soaked or charred - exhaust insulation is a fire and burn safeguard, not trim
• One part now replaces three earlier references, so check the parts list to see how many sections the installation takes
• Find and fix any oil or fuel leak dripping onto the insulation before fitting new material
