Genuine Volvo Penta fully synthetic petrol engine oil, SAE 5W-40 to ACEA C3, in a 20 litre container weighing 17.792 kg and listed for 120 V series applications. It is the largest of the three containers this oil comes in and the sensible choice where several engines are being serviced. Developed for high performance petrol engines, it protects against wear and limits deposit and sludge build-up over a wide temperature range, and suits engines fitted with a catalyst as well as non-catalyst engines built in model year 2008 and later. It supersedes part number 21363431.

🔌 Function

Lubricates and cools the moving parts of a petrol engine, carrying heat and wear debris away from the bearings and bores and holding combustion by-products in suspension between oil changes.

• Oil on the dipstick gone black and thin well before the service interval
• Rattle from the valve gear on start-up as pressure takes longer to build
• Low oil pressure warning at idle once the engine is hot
• Milky or creamy oil showing water has got into the sump
• Sludge or varnish found in the rocker cover when the engine is opened

🛠️ Service Notes

• The most economical option where several engines are being serviced, but at close to 18 kg the container needs handling gear or a pump
• Keep it sealed and dry between uses so the oil is not contaminated
• This is the petrol grade - the diesel engines take the VDS-4.5 oil instead
