🔌 Function

Passes engine coolant through a tube stack washed by raw seawater, dumping the engine's heat overboard without the two circuits ever mixing.

  • Coolant temperature climbing steadily under sustained load
  • Header tank losing level with no external leak
  • Oil or coolant traces in the raw water discharge
  • Anode eaten away far faster than usual
  • Tube stack found scaled, blocked or holed on strip-down

🛠️ Service Notes

  • Fit new end cover seals and gaskets - they are single use, and a reused one is the usual cause of a repeat leak
  • Renew the anode and set a checking interval once the exchanger is back in service
  • At 23 kg it should be supported while it is lifted into place
