Draws two flanged joints together with a V section band, sealing the connection while still letting it be split for service.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

  • Exhaust leak audible at the joint, with soot staining around it
  • Band distorted or its bolt visibly stretched
  • Nut seized or the thread corroded so the correct torque cannot be reached
  • Joint loosening again shortly after it has been retightened

  • Tighten in stages to the specified torque and recheck once the engine has been through a heat cycle
  • A stretched or distorted band will not seal again - renew it rather than overtighten
