• Volvo Penta D11C1-A MP
• Volvo Penta D11C2-A MP

• Engine Family: D

⚙️ Key Features

• Heat shield for the inlet and exhaust side
• 5.216 kg
• Supersedes 21992315
• Listed for two D series engine applications

🔌 Function

Stands between the hot exhaust and turbocharger surfaces and the hoses, looms and components alongside them, blocking radiated heat.

⚠️ Common Signs of Failure

• Hoses or wiring near the exhaust found scorched, hardened or discoloured
• Buzz or rattle from the top of the engine under load
• Cracks radiating from the mounting holes
• Shield distorted or blued where it has touched the manifold
• Fasteners or standoffs missing, letting the shield rest on hot metal

🛠️ Service Notes

• Check the standoffs and spacers - a shield sitting directly against the manifold conducts heat instead of blocking it
• Inspect the hoses and looms the shield protects before refitting, as heat damage there is what usually reveals a missing shield
